On February 28, 2016, I brought home Miss Wendy Davis Helmers. It's been ten years with this weird and wonderful dog in my life. She's been there through so many hard times in my life. She always knows when someone is struggling, and is there to lick the tears away. Or smother you with love. She's the best, and I love her so much.

Ode to Wendy

My goodest girl, my sweetest pup,

My first dog, my cozy pupper.

Always ready with a butt wiggle and tail wag,

Ready to lap up tears

Simultaneously the most neglected dog, while surrounded by love.

My life with you is brighter,

And I always come home.
