On Writing, Again

Why are you writing?

I've been talking and thinking about this for awhile. I like the idea of writing. It helps me sort through ideas, but documenting them has always been hard. I look back at 2025, and see only a few posts. I can do better.

What's different now?

Hanging on omg.lol's Mastodon instance, I've seen multiple people share blog posts with the tag, #100DaysToOffload. I eventually grew curious, googled it, and went to the website 100daystooffload.

From their website:

The whole point of #100DaysToOffload is to challenge you to publish 100 posts on your personal blog in a year.

Posts donโ€™t need to be long-form, deep, meaningful, or even that well written. If there are spelling and grammar mistakes, or even if thereโ€™s no real point to the post, so what? Whatโ€™s important is that youโ€™re writing about the things you want to write about.

Goals

So what? My hope that is that on January 21, 2027, I'll have writeen 100 posts. Some will be long, some will be short. But when I push this commit, I'll only have 99 to go.

To help track this, I put a little counter on my homepage that shows how many time's I've used the tag

It'll look like this: #100DaysToOffload: 2

Wish me luck!
